Born in Le Chesnay, France

Born to Félix Wembanyama — a 6'6" Congolese-born French triple jumper — and Élodie de Fautereau, a 6'3" basketball coach and former player. Older sister Ève is a pro basketball player; younger brother Oscar plays basketball and handball. Maternal grandfather Michel was a pro basketballer. He was, in every literal sense, engineered for this.
